The Secret Society Ballroom
The ballroom is available for event rental, providing a unique, casually elegant environment for weddings, business functions, and private parties.
From its construction in 1907 until the mid-1990s, the ballroom served as a meeting hall for fraternal organizations, first for The Woodmen of the World and then for nearly 50 years as the home of The Prince Hall Masons. Honoring its rich history as a members-only lodge, it was dubbed The Secret Society Ballroom in 2004, beginning its modern life as an events space. The ballroom has since played host to dozens of music, spoken word and art events, wine tastings, weddings, and private parties.
The 1800 square foot ballroom comfortably accommodates 175 – 200 guests (standing capacity), and 100 – 125 guests for a seated/catered event, including additional rentals.
Rental rates vary, depending on the specifics of your individual event, taking into account day of week, duration, guest count, and labor requirements.
Included with room rental is a licensed OLCC bartender(s), kitchen staff, on-site coordinator, 11 – 2’x2’ and 3 – 2’x4’ dark wood tables, 4 – 4’ tall 32” round bistro tables (with linens), 40 red vinyl chairs, and fixed seating for 30 – 35 guests.
The Secret Society offers in-house catering prepared with a mind to utilizing fresh, seasonal, and, whenever possible, local and regional ingredients. We work with locally-owned purveyors, providing us the opportunity to offer you and your guests food that helps directly support our economy.
Equipped with a stage, professional lighting, and sound system, our ballroom is the perfect space for special events featuring live music. Our sound engineer and stage manager are happy to work with your entertainment to ensure they are appropriately equipped to perform at your event.
