James Mason has played and recorded Bluegrass, Country, Swing and Jazz. In 2014 James won the National Swing Fiddle Championship in Weiser Idaho and The Bob Wills Fiddle Championship in Greenville Texas.

James regularly performs in Portland with Pete Krebs and The Portland Playboys, The Djangophiles, Rebecca Kilgore and various others.
