The Alphabeticians
The Alphabeticians
The Alphabeticians, Mister Hoo and Mister E, have been best friends since their salad days in the mid 80s. They formed The Alphabeticians after they both became fathers, heard some of the music that was promoted as “Kid's” music and thought, “We can do better than that.” They combine humor, clever songs, interactive elements and an all around great stage show to entertain people of all ages. Adults have as much fun as kids at a typical show. They have been performing as The Alphabeticians since 2009, but they have an estimated 47 years of combined experience playing and performing music, and have performed more than 470 shows.

Mister E (Eric Levine) will be 47 in four years, but his love of the alphabet can be traced back to his early kindergarten finger-paintings, formerly displayed in the Frigidaire wing of the Levine Museum. A high school English teacher by day, Mister E's rock and roll legacy includes Portland 90's sensation: The Willies, as well as Fuzzball, Danny and the Originals, and the apocryphal Dry Water (Sand).

Mister Hoo (Jeff Inlay) is just 3 years shy of 47 and, though familiar with the alphabet since childhood, has only grown to love it in recent years. A father of 2 and resident of West Linn, he has been in more bands than he can count (although he claims he can only count to 3), but is most well known for playing in Portland 90's sensation Hummingfish, and is least well known for his time in Southern California punk band the Mendicant Sauciers. He's also confident he was not in Led Zeppelin. Mr. E and Mr. Hoo were also featured in The Fundada Five, Lump of Food and The _ Experience.
Micah And Me
Micah And Me
Aaron Canwell started the band when he became a stay-at-home dad to his six month old son, Micah. Aaron was wandering around Portland looking for activities to do with his son. He stumbled into a Kindie performance. This performance engaged children young and old to sing and dance. Aaron attended performances during that first year and got hooked. He got the idea to take his love of music and movement to share with children. Shortly after he realized that having a band partner would be very helpful. Aaron posted in the Portland Dads At Home Facebook group asking if any other dads wanted to join him on this new adventure. Aaron plays the ukulele, sings and is the band's hype man!

Ryan Chouinard partnered with Aaron bringing the idea of Micah and Me to fruition. In addition to writing several of Micah and Me originals, Ryan plays the guitar, bass drum and sings in the band. Ryan has also been playing piano since he was 4 years old! His 16 year business background in the entertainment industry has helped lead the band's success. Ryan cares for Halle age 16, Ramsey age six, Paisley age four and Kindie age two.

For the past three years Aaron and Ryan have been performing as a duo and connecting with other dads and their children. Through these connections they met Justin Deckert, a talented bass player! Justin brings his past rock band experience to Micah and Me. He also cares for his three year old son, Arthur.

Now Micah and Me is a super fun band that does super fun things like toddler dance parties, birthday parties and family dance parties!
